Had a look around an X1 last week and didn't go much on it. I thought they looked okay in the pics but a bit cheap in the flesh. Maybe it was just the base model. I'm more of a 2 seater guy anyway but wouldn't mind something just for our harsh global warming fuelled winters. Going to settle for a cheap RWD car instead that I woulnd't crap myself about if I crashed it , fitted with appropriate tyres and snow chains in the boot it should cope with anything thrown at it by this climateComment

I would go for the new Cayenne model which is coming out this year, has been lowered so looks more like the cross overs you mention, but probably still a fair bit larger.
