PSO, PMO, PPSO, I hate them all

No it's not just you. There are plenty of PMs that hate doing this.
The idea is to give the head of PMO figures to look at that indicate which projects are on track and which are running into the rocks.
As long as your RAG status is green, you get left alone.
Are you hitting your estimates, or are you over budget?
(Under budget is just as bad IIRC)Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras. -
Sounds like a classic case of metrics becoming an end in themselves, and to hell with realityOriginally posted by PRINCE2 of DarknessI have discovered it is best to have one red risk and an overall project status of amber. They don't trust the green projects nor projects with no red risks.
I also discovered the PMO has a quota of red and amber RAGs for each programme; if you have too many non-greens colours in your risk register, you get told to mark down some of the red or amber ones so they don't get told off.
