In less than 2 years, that position made redundant and I was on the road at April 2009, one of the worse time to get any job. I was so sick that I have traded 2 years of my contract money for what ??? When companies get rid of you they do it anyway. Now after 3 months of bench time I was back to contracting and vowed never to go permi.
A salutary lesson. I learned the same thing many years ago.

Permy is not permy so you might just as well take your chances moving from contract to contract.

At least you get plenty of experience in finding work and working in different environments, which is more enriching.

No - you're thinking about the "places sex" rule.

1 - Kitchen sex - you have sex in every room of the house, including the kitchen
2 - Bedroom sex - you only have sex in the bedroom
3 - Hallway sex - you walk past each other in the hallway, and mutter "f*** you" to each other
4 - Courtroom sex - she screws you in front of everyone.
