Fantastic place, love it, can't think of better city in the UK.

I was reminiscing today about the couple of years I spent living in Bristol - it's my favourite city by far. It was also the scene of one of my best embarassing stories, featuring a (technically) stolen car, pyjama's, and a half broken tooth.

I saw that movie.

Bath has cliquey little bars and expensive boutiques ...if you like that sort of thing.

Bristol is a more vibrant place with great pubs, clubs and attitude, depends if you're a snob or just out for a good time.

I like Bristol, I contracted there a year or two ago and it was ok. Comfortable enough to be there on your own, anyway...

Worked in Bristol about 8 years ago for 18 Months.

I really liked Bristol and still have fond memories of it. The city area around Corn Street is quite nice as well as Clifton etc.

If you into something a bit more bohemian Montpelier is quite nice and IMO the St Pauls festival beats the cr@p out of Nottinghill Carnival as its much less commercial. That being said, its also good to get out of there by nightfall.

The countryside in the West Country is beautiful, Cornwall is close enough for a day drip, London is far enough away, Wales just across the bridge.

IIRC we had three Jones's and two Davies's in our office alone:-)

Been to Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Brighton and I think if I had to settle anywhere in the UK it would be the West Country.

Everywhwre in the UK you go you will get ripoff carparks , traffic wardens and New Labour, although get your voting shoes on and you may be able to do something about the last item on the list:-)
