You a bit touchy? It sounded high, to say we were losing 500+ per year, and it is, based on those figures. You're looking at a loss of around 200 per year.Originally posted by Churchill View PostWiki - 1,618 killed (US: 978, UK: 253, Other: 387)[15]
1 POW (US)[16]
9,535+ wounded (US: 4,869,[17] UK: 3,360,[18]
Contractors:75 killed, 2,428 wounded (to 2007/03)[19]
The 500+ was a round-about(ish) figure.
Does it really matter?
That aside, one is too many, as has already been said...Older and ...well, just older!!Comment

When we were bombing them from the skies, casualties were much lower.

You won't shock me by these stories old chap - this has been known to me to happen long time before NATO got into Afghanistan, not just there mind you - Chechnya springs to mind.Originally posted by Churchill View PostThat and the fact that if the Mujis got hold of you they'd cut you dick off, stick it in your mouth and leave your dismembered body to be found by your colleagues?
To be fair cutting heads of hostages would be more usual thing to expect there.
Knowledge of this helps reduce surrender rate among troops...Comment

In the well endowed regiments of the British army, such as I was in, the main danger is that they would cut your head off and stick it in the mouth of yer willyOriginally posted by zeitghost

If they were able to capture enough of NATO troops then they'd be doing the same in my view, it wasn't anti-Russian thing, more of anti-infidel kind of thingy, apparently.Originally posted by Churchill View PostIt was the treatment of Russians during their occupation of Afghanistan that I was referring to.Comment
