6 weeks waiting for clearance and the high level programme consortium have now decided that they don't want to take on as many developers as they had planned.

Oh dear, has it fallen through?

Very much so. At least I hadn't stopped looking, which is one thing - new CV went onto JobServe this week.

Just need to start looking harder now (had started slacking a bit, as I'd met the client, knew the programme and felt sure that it wouldn't get canned).

They might come back, but much, much stranger things have happened.

MrsF is more annoyed than I am - just generally about how some clients treat contractors.

Maybe I should crush up some of my betablockers and put them in her tea to calm her down.....

I find a bottle of wine tends to have the same effect without the risk of a coronary.

Bad luck Faq, at least you know you've still 'got it' and I'm sure another contract will turn up real soon.
Oh, I’m sorry….I seem to be lost. I was looking for the sane side of town. I’d ask you for directions, but I have a feeling you’ve never been there and I’d be wasting my time.

Are they going to pay you for wasted time and possible opportunities, or is it the same thing as in UK housing market when buyer agrees to buy stuff in writing but then pulls out without any penalties?

Normally markets start picking up from end Jan onwards, its been very slow, with a lot of projects not getting the green light till April this year.

Also if it's any consolation my 5 irons I had in the fire at the beginning of the week, have all gone very cold.

Just read this thread and was going to offer my congrats until I read the last few posts.

Sorry to hear this but keep positive.

Damn, was so hoping this would end like a Hollywood movie with a happy ending.
