I wouldnt have put it quite like that. It was unnecessary to make the last comment.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone -
A few years back, I hired a guy with a 2 year gap (via an agency). Got him cheap, because he'd have to spend time getting back up to speed. He was great.
The agent you were talking to is a viscious nasty lying piece of a cancerous oozing anal polyp.
Unlike our friend dodgy, of course.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

I was out of IT for almost 3 years. To get back I took a permie role and stuck it for a year or so then went back into contracting.
As long as you have a plausible reason to be out its not too big a deal.Comment

That is the perfect antidote. I'm going to print it out to remind myself it ain't personal and to get some attitude.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View Post

I'd emailed 'em to complain yesterday when fuming...the manager of the section just called me to apologise and ask if anything they could do etc as he wouldn't want me to not use their services or not to recommend them.
While trying not to rant I just said perhaps ask the guy in question not to be so personal in future, and that he didn't really seem to get it.
He made the valid point that just because one person makes a mistake it's not really a reflection of the company as a whole. Which is true, guess we've all got stories to tell about great agencies that others can't stand. He was professional about it, so yes, I'd use that agency, just not the guy I spoke to.
Off to get a life now.
