I don't think any Muslim would dispute that the political "leaders" of the Muslim world and their policies are often bad. Particularly in Saudi where you will find it at its worst in terms of oppression. However you are obviously quite ignorent to various facts:

    - the largest jewish population outside Israel in the middle east is in big old scary Iran where they do have significant rights - BBC reported that the "nutter" ahmedinjad regularly donates to the jewish hospital in tehran
Actually the BBC reported that President Ahmadinejad's office once donated money, not that "he regularly donates". But the point is a good one, that it is anti-zionism and anti-israeli feeling that you find in the Middle East, not anti-semitism, which is rather a European evil.

Nevertheless it is somewhat off the main point. The Jews in Iran may well have "significant rights": Muslims here have equal rights. There is a difference, not just in degree but in kind.

Muslims may have "equal" rights in paper, but I doubt that is the reality of the situation. And from the views and suggestions on this thread it seems people are moving towards demonising them and making them second class citizens.

At the end of the day we have to stick to the democratic values we stand for. As soon as we compromise those principles its all down hill from there.

Are you saying then, in the context of the original post, that you agree with the Association of Muslim Coppers?

I'm with the White Christian Coppers Association on that one.

What do you mean there isn't a White Christian Police Association?

Ok, I'm with the Christian Police Association.

What do you mean there isn't a Christian Police Association?

Ok, in that case I'm with the White Police Officers Association...

Actually there is a "Christian Police Association"... My bad...

But I take your point, the CPA don't involve themselves in politics.

Maybe MPA was worried about this nutter: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/ja...led-guns-bombs

That depends on how wide your definition is. It is a Representative Democracy.

It's a bit hard to organise a proper democracy with 60M people.
