There are plenty of other tennis tournaments taking place around the world and it would be a shame if Wimbledon became less attractive as a result of some top players deciding not compete, especially now the powers that be have finally accepted that putting on a roof is a good idea because it might rain in London during June.Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostBTW I'm pretty sure Wimbledon won't happen anywhere outside the UK.
People overseas are not nearly as attached to our "summer institutions" as we are and I think it is a mistake to rely on sentimentality to maintain the competition's position in the world.
