Guinness has been £3.40 in my local for a while now (and before that it was £3.30, and before that £3.20). So I'm not sure what this "news" refers to.Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

I can remember 11p for bitter in the lounge, 10p in the tap room.Originally posted by zeitghostI can (vaguely) remember it being 18p a pint.
Mild was a penny cheaper, so you if were were feeling broke you could sup mild in the tap room for 9p.
That was quite a saving percentage wise, but you did have to put up with the odd nutter in the tap room.
this might have been before I was 18
The cheapest at college was 10p but it was sickly sweet and gassy S&N stuff, generally foul; I also remember some dishwatery stuff at 8p.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

Guinness is €5.40 in my local (what's that these days? about a fiver?) and I only live about 20 miles from St James' Gate.Comment

I can remember bog standard bitter being 80p a pint, or you could splash out on Directors or Hicks Special Draft for £1.
When I got to Uni in London a bottle of Newcastle Brown in the union bar was £1. There was uproar when it went up to £1.20."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment
