Although not classed as your average 'white collar' sport, darts has been growing in popularity in the UK and worldwide over the past few years. Last night we watched Phil Taylor take his 15th world championship which is a few more than Jenson Button and the England Football team have managed between them yet there seems to be no recognition. Is this because NuLabour are the New Tories?

Or is it because we're not interested in sweaty fat men, threatening heart attacks by throwing things?Originally posted by darmstadt View PostAlthough not classed as your average 'white collar' sport, darts has been growing in popularity in the UK and worldwide over the past few years. I admire Taylor's skill and longevity, but pub games like shove 'apenny, darts, arm wrestling, skittles, bar billiards and table football don't do it for me as top sports.Comment

It's not a sport.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostAlthough not classed as your average 'white collar' sport
Darts is (are?) a recreational activity that some people take way too seriously.

It's a competitive activity that requires skill, practice and co-ordination. Therefore I have no issue with it being referred to as a sport.Originally posted by AtW View PostIt's not a sport.

Plus, it's shown on sky sportsComment
