Ok, <rolls up sleeves>

The VAT increase on 1st Jan has little impact on the economy. Retail sector stats are up slightly at end of Q1. More talks of green shoots. All is well.

Q2 General Election. Landslide Tory win. We are saved, yada yada yada.
More green shoots, but public spending cuts.

Q3 Countries start to default one by one, starting with America. Food shortages in the US. Rioting in the US. Dollar collapse triggers other currency collapses, including the pound.

Q4 Financial meltdown.
