I have several Shotguns, None of which I would use on an intruder.

Just keep a can of de-icer handy. one squirt in the eyes and then call the police.

I won't apply in the first place (and obviously won't have illegal fire arms) - the guns on offer are tulip and so is police statement that "self-defence" isn't a valid reason, wtf is?

That's THEIR choice. It cracks me up how anti-gun people talk about owners shot by their own guns - that's their bloody own choice to own a gun and accept all the risks associated with it! Same as driving cars - this kills 3000 people in the UK every year, or rough 50 per week: that's 7/7 every week.
