With a pint of lager rapidly approaching 4 quid in that part of town I think the only improvement would be to have two packets of crisps.Originally posted by BrilloPad View Post"Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, recipient of the world’s biggest banking bailout, is contributing 10 pounds ($16) a head toward employee Christmas parties this year, enough to buy two pints of lager and a packet of potato chips."
Surely they can do better than that for £10?How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

I think there is your answer.Originally posted by BrilloPad View Post"Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, recipient of the world’s biggest banking bailout, is contributing 10 pounds ($16) a head toward employee Christmas parties this year, enough to buy two pints of lager and a packet of potato chips."
Surely they can do better than that for £10?Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
