26Yes, easily23.08%6Yes, but only if he stops posting on CUK3.85%1No, that's impossible - must have £1000 per day project managers etc30.77%8Even AndyW's mum could do it42.31%11 -

There's no "Who GAS? There's no way a small time cowboy with a couple of clever ideas would ever be trusted with such tiny project" option, therefore, I'm out.
That said, I don't know why the DB has to be central. Would have made a lot more sense to distribute it to the trusts themselves - with them being responsible for their own patients data and an API/Webservice to get hold of it if you're trusted.
The only central database needs to be the one we've already got with the NHS numbers & location of where the records are..."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

Either way £12 bln seems a ridiculous amount for it, heck for any IT project...Comment

I know that English is not your first language and it doesn't help that the language is routinely scrambled in other countries but the language is called English not American.
From the Latin centrum.Comment

Blowing my own horn here, but I'm one of the people that built the new 'NHS' IT system here in Denmark.
I think it is really rather good. Your GP can book you in to see a specialist right there and then at the consultation, or if you need to check your diary you can do it yourself from home later. If your GP prescribes you something a bit out of the ordinary, the system will alert the Doctor and they can tell you where you might pick it up, or organise it to be delivered to your chemist of choice in a few hours. All at the touch of a few buttons.
Such systems are not that complex in reality, just big.
And mine is available to go if there are any New Lie politicos wishing to do something useful in what remains of their career...Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Wow, a poll that is almost as balanced as the Daily Mail's "Should the NHS allow gipsies to jump the queue?" poll.
The answer is quite clearly a no, but that isn't an option. It's nothing to do with needing expensive project managers, or anything else for that matter.
AtW, if you are so confident that you can do it, then go do it and sell it to the NHS. It's called speculation - if you build it, they will come. And if you build it, and it works, then you can probably sell it for significantly more than £10 million.Comment
