              It had been a long-running sustained campaign against one particular moderator - there was a thread on mumsnet where the harpies were gunning for the same person.

              Do accounts need to be approved now? They weren't on Friday

                  Fair enough. I didn't go back to find out if there was any "history" with all this which by the sound of it there was.

                  It looks like the mods on that site are regular posters too which I think is an unwise combination.
