I don't hate Hilda, I just would prefer it if you didn't make things up in your fanboy adoration of Saint Thatcher

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.” -

1. That had Thatcher NOT come into power they would be as wealthy as they are now anyway.
or
2. What is it that she did that was so terrible to them that it made them hate her.
If snaw had said that Thatcher once got pished and stabbed his mum to death then THAT I could understand.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

I'm not a socialist but I will respond to Point 2
I dislike the way she had little regard for putting something in place (or helping to facilitate) for the industries she removed. I'm sure some of it was motivated by spite. But instead she was happy to create the welfare dependancy culture that Labour have taken to the next level, to my mind that was stupidity.
I believe there were areas of manufacturing that could now be thriving with the correct approach, we would not have as many areas with fractured communities with broken families who are disincentivised to work. It is clearly not enough for an economy to rely on the service industries alone, for balance of payments and national pride. Isambard Kingdom Brunel must have been spinning in his grave.Last edited by Bagpuss; 27 November 2009, 15:40.The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

So much of what you say is completely without perspective. It may have been Thatcher who switched the lights off but it was her predecessors who were responsible for getting the UK into the mess in the first place.
WTF this has to do with Isambard Kingdom Brunel I dont know. Or do you think that introducing his "big" name into a debate somehow strengthens your non point?Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

Now to my mind those people could have been invested in other than spending taxpayer money to keep them quiet. The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

After all capitalism embraces the idea of not having full employment or rather a natural level of unemployment. Rather than have 5 million unemployed it was decided to redefine what unemployment was and park people on long term none unemployment statistic measured benefits.
