Only six months to go
Numbly tolerating the inequality as a way to achieve greater prosperity for all. -
And is that David Cameron's bicycle leaning (locked, I hope) to the railings? My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think. -
and in 6 months, everyone will vote for the cons, jolly hockey sticks aren't they good, lovely honeymoon period promising everything until the next election when people will again vote cons cos they 'remember' what labour were like and dont want them in again, then the tide turns on the cons as they dont deliver on all the promises, taxes rises, income diminishes, public become disillusioned as per labour now (or those that really aint got nowt else to worry about in life and thrive on shat/pettiness being spouted in media) then following election Labour are back in, cycle continues Ad infinitumComment

But you're not.
The MPs just vote as instructed, the opposition are pointless, the Lords has been made irrelevant.
We really may as well give up this pretence that this is a 'democracy' and just alternate every ten years between two presidents. My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment

Sadly I completely agree.
Our democracy is a total sham and our political system is irrevocably broken.Comment

I don't have to go to the Jobsentre every fortnight any more as I just got a letter from them yesterday to say my contribution based JSA has run out, not that £60pw made much of a dent in my outgoings in any event...
So it's back to burning up the savings built up over years of hard work, can't believe I always used to vote Labour.Last edited by Ruse; 14 November 2009, 19:30.Comment

So it's back to burning up the savings built up over years of hard work, can't believe I always used to vote Labour.
How does that work then ?
Or is it along the lines of "If MP's can claim for things, when they don't have to, I'll do the same as well, regardless of personal honour and morality ?"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Obviously you can't claim if you are paying yourself a salary from your Ltd Co.
There is a reasonable doc produced by PCG on benefits contractors can claim, but you need to be a member to access it.Comment
