You are entitled to claim contribution based JSA based on previous NI contributions. This is not means tested. You still need to go to Job Centre once a fortnight and sign on to get it. It lasts about 6 months.
Obviously you can't claim if you are paying yourself a salary from your Ltd Co.

There is a reasonable doc produced by PCG on benefits contractors can claim, but you need to be a member to access it.

I don't have to go to the Jobsentre every fortnight any more as I just got a letter from them yesterday to say my contribution based JSA has run out, not that £60pw made much of a dent in my outgoings in any event...

So it's back to burning up the savings built up over years of hard work, can't believe I always used to vote Labour.

and in 6 months, everyone will vote for the cons, jolly hockey sticks aren't they good, lovely honeymoon period promising everything until the next election when people will again vote cons cos they 'remember' what labour were like and dont want them in again, then the tide turns on the cons as they dont deliver on all the promises, taxes rises, income diminishes, public become disillusioned as per labour now (or those that really aint got nowt else to worry about in life and thrive on shat/pettiness being spouted in media) then following election Labour are back in, cycle continues Ad infinitum
