I hardly watched any telly till I was in my 20s. I mean, we did have a telly in the house but I just wasn't into it at all. Most the nostalgia about telly from the 70s and 80s goes straight over my head.

Yes, I know somebody exactly like that. It's like they were born and lived in a foreign country, all 70s & 80s references mean nothing to them.

Does anybody remember those weird polish cartoons on BBC2?

The announcer beforehand would say "and now we have a cartoon called..." and you'd think "goody, here comes Tom and Jerry"

Then you'd have 20 minutes of a hand-drawn leaf spinning round and round.


Nostalgia's a funny thing eh? TV 30 years ago was 3 channels:

BBC1: Snooker
BBC2: One man and his dog sheep trials
ITV: That show with Rod Hull and Grottbags in a lighthouse or alternatively Cannon and Ball.

Anyone remember "Children of the Stones"?

I recall is was about a village in a stone circle, stones have powers etc. Pretty sure it was set in Avebury, because when I drove through there years later, I had flashbacks to the programme.

Me too. Lou Ferrigno was one scary bloke. Also, anyone remember the Godzilla cartoons? How about Mysterious Cities of Gold? With the flying golden eagle, or rather the giant flying eagle made of gold!
