Nope, I've applied for these kind of jobs, but got nowhere. Lots of other people wanting these jobs have CVs that don't say I'll be off as soon as I find something better. IT qualifications and experience are pretty useless things to have on a CV in that market. -
Yes I suppose you're right but still nothing to lose in applying as the IT job market will be shutting down within a couple of weeks for the Christmas breakOriginally posted by TimberWolf View PostNope, I've applied for these kind of jobs, but got nowhere. There doesn't seem to be an easy way out of IT. Experience in this field doesn't lend itself to moving seamlessly into non-IT areas unless you have garnered large domain knowledge in specific verticals. Or am I wrong?Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostNope, I've applied for these kind of jobs, but got nowhere. Plus, why employ anyone over 30 for physical work when there's an endless supply of 25 year old's?Originally posted by fckvwls View PostThere doesn't seem to be an easy way out of IT. True to an extent, but for some people the entrepeneurial spirit of being self-employed can lead to starting up side businesses unrelated to IT. Seen some discussions along these lines on the PCG forums. Takes a bit of bottle though and some start up capital as well as a lot of hard work. In some cases the side venture can become the main business.Originally posted by fckvwls View PostThere doesn't seem to be an easy way out of IT.
