I disagree, I think his incompetance, U-turns, and general unprofessionalism will be a big vote loser. I can't remember seeing an elected politician so ill at ease meeting the public, and the over exaggerated nodding in agreement points made that it's fairly obvious he wouldn't agree with in private, only served to underline his duplicity.

I said before that this could've been the making or breaking of the BNP, I think it will be the latter.

Fair enough, he was rubbbish. Totally agree - but so were the rest of the politicians. They did a very poor job indeed, and I think (Maybe wrongly) that some people watching that, who are that way inclined, might actually have felt sorry for him.

Us Brits do like to get behind an underdog and don't like to see underdogs being picked on by bigger more powerful rivals.

That said, I don't think this applies to our feelings towards politicians.

Yes, just seen a longer report on the TV, and an awful lot looked quite scripted. That 'south pole' joke was very good, made me LOL, but delivered by someone without much sense of timing, i.e. came over like an obvious pre-scripted set up.

No really killer questions such as "As a racist party, if the BNP gets in power how will they cope with the rise of India and China in world affairs?
Can you really do business with the rest of the world while despising certain peoples and cultures?
Do they intend the UK to become a backwater pariah state (like South Africa used to be) " etc etc etc .

It doesn't really matter how he did as few of the people voting for the BNP will support their purist ideas on Britishness anyway. For most of us "our" culture is what we grew up with.

The major problem is that the pace of change due to immigration is so fast that people cannot cope with it. Until that issue is addressed they will vote BNP as a protest even if were led by Adolph himself.
