Yes, even Sun managed that with the first couple of goes at RMI. Then they discovered the one true protocol: IIOP.Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

I once shared an office with a team doing development with CORBA. They reckoned it was a licence to print money (via overtime and extensions).Originally posted by threaded View PostASN.1 and CORBA: those that don't know them are doomed to re-implement them, badly.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

Arrgghhh
IT WAS SOOOOOOOO SIMPLE.
I spent this mornings train journey redesigning the job, then once at work got embroiled in some reverse pivoting with customer.
Did a fair bit of work avoidance
and then it came to me, I am now very pleased, but somewhat cross at myself for not working it out much much sooner.
I'm as happy as a piggie with two carrots - as Pogle jr would say
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

I've had quite a few eureka moments while sat on throne - hence the justification why it counts as billable time...Originally posted by Pogle View PostDid a fair bit of work avoidance

Walking away from the problem and doing something else often does the trick. Don't be cross with yourself (but I can't leave it alone either

Given out this tip before but there is a cure for repetitive thoughts.
Concentrate on the location of where you appear to think, just near top of head slightly forward of earline normally. Now concentrate and shift your consciousness down and sideways to the left of your nose. The repetititive thoughts stop. It really works!bloggoth
