You'll get used to it, just don't expect anyone to be particularly friendly and of course once you have a taste for the money, you can never leave. A bit like those rabbits in Watership Down. fill yer boots!Comment

I have found London people to be quite helpful and friendly when you need them to be.
Same in New York. Visitors think they have a reputation for being rude, surly and unhelpful, but most of the time, they are great.
Now, Parisians - feck them!
Also, the rudest, most obnoxious people I have found in England were in Leeds. So much for Northern Hospitality.
You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Even Mayfair is crap nowadays.
Mayfair was never ever great IMO, being a playground for rich and nasty Middle Eastern types since the 70s.
In any case generalising about London is as senseless as generalising about any diverse group or system.
London had both the worst and best places in the world.Hard Brexit now!

Leeds is weird, perhaps because it's the biggest city in Yorkshire. Even as a native of the county I found it the hardest place in Yorkshire to settle, and was glad to get away from it when I could.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment
