I've got a gig in Loui7 in Bad Homburg Louisenstr. 128 on 19. Sep.

It's a Rockabilly trio complete with real double bass player. If I get the Gretsch I'll be debuting it there.

It'll be Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran etc and also some Brian Setzer as well.

It was a great atmosphere last time.

    Come and have a pint.
    I'm alright Jack

I have visitors that weekend and that is a bit of a distance for a gig.
I would love to attend, but cant see it.
In case you missed my earlier post, I live near the shop you linked to which is where I assume you are coming to get the guitar. That was the reason for suggesting a meet.
I am on Bodensee, not in Frankfurt.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Step back, have a think and adjust my own own attitude from time to time

aha...yes I was wondering what you meant, so I presumed you were in Frankfurt. No I'll be ordering it over the internet. I actually tried the guitar out in another shop in Frankfurt a few weeks ago, but for some reason they only stock the 5120's now with the humbucker pickup.

oh yes it is a bit far

Ooh dear, only about 45 minutes away from me although I'll be over in Fulda and driving around the Rhön most of the day, I might just pop along
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

personally, i'd be after an 6120 or a white falcon but you'd probably want one of the setzers

              because you're worth it.

Wish I could but I'll be in another country. I'm really into that type of stuff as well.

The Gretsch arrived, badly setup, with strings buzzing badly, needs to be taken to the guitar doctor. In fact when I played it I nearly thought about putting it back in the box and sending it back. The guitar is pretty loud actually, so you can´t hear above the tinny twang of an unplugged guitar, if you play quietly through the amp, but then I put headphones on, and then I heard it....WOW that sound.

EVERY guitar should be set up by a pro no matter where it comes from.

Sounds like you got a nice axe anyway

Well the gig was a great success but still have setup problems on the Gretsch "grr" at the pro who set it up, so switched to my backup "axe".

Eventually the cops came in and shut the gig down in the middle of a raucous Buddy Holly number, sort of fitted in with our image as a 50's Rockabilly outfit.
