Agree 100% - so I need to think of it short term, and get all the business I can......just needs to pay the mortgage off on the two flats.....

If you get a decent reputation then you could get repeat business on high quality prints from digi cams, but you would have to compete with Boots et al.
Can you do HD pics to Blu Ray discs or something like that?
How about offering a posterising option too.
Obviously you would need to research these as there are other businesses out there doing similar, but they would sit well with what you are currently doing.

Yes there are several options open to expandind, thanks for your comments. To start with though, I need to get the core business up and running, then move to these other areas.

just thinking further into how to make this business even more sustainable,

the posters idea was excellent as was home video camera films to digital and photographs

and now my two pence....

what about value added....


printed t shirts, mugs, pens, mouse mats, christmas presents all that malarky


and any other ideas that come as a result of thinking about the above


I disagree with the rest, I think this is not such a short term business and I think if the business becomes successful, lots of other pieces of the puzzle will fall into place
