If it's written down (even electronically), it's legal."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested." -
He was dear to start with but he was available (alarm bell should have rung at that point). I feel such a t**t that I let him do the job.Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostEh? This shower is costing you a grand more than expected - surely it's made out of gold?Comment

Find out exactly how much the shower costs if you'd bought it yourself, retail. You shouldn't pay any more than that. At least that part you can legally contest. Also then see what his hourly rate is. If it is sigicantly more than an average rate chop it, he won't be able to contest that easily.Originally posted by bellymonster View PostJust been had by a dodgy plumber.
He's fitted a new shower and not done agood job at all, on top of that his bill has leapt by £1000. Apparently the quote he gave me did not include part !?!?!
Suggestions as to how I cripple the barsteward.....
If he is ripping you off he'll back down fairly easily.I'm alright JackComment

If he's given you a quote, then that's what you pay. His fault if he's left something off, especially if you've got it written down...
However, if it was verbal, or it's an "Estimate" you're screwed...In case of emergency, break dance.Comment
