        I have a 32ft5 Westerley Renown.

        I find it enjoyable to do the maintenance on her myself and like tinkering with her bits OO'er...

                      i'm not sure that 15k is going to buy a trouble free toy of either persuasion

                      the annual budget for both will be high

                      i'd go for the boat but you should locate your nearest sailing spot and find out the price (and waiting time) for annual mooring.
