I wouldn't knock a "Northern 'Red brick' University" either, as some of them have a excellent Business Schools. When I was applying for MBAs I sent one to one of the Northern red-bricks. They demanded to see my bank statements, which I faxed them.
They promptly sent me an offer

Sorted out our wedding date in Nyc next year and what 'the day' will look like.... finally!
