Still not sure how you accidentally release a handbrake. I was in a car showroom about 20 years ago sitting in a new car and playing around with knobs and levers and released the handbrake. The car was on a ramp and unfortunately not in gear or chocced, and I sat there as it slowly rolled off of the ramp into a pillar. Only a few seconds before that, my mother had been standing there.
