I think there are still one or two on here using such antiquated systems .
I've still got a VAX emulator which I fire up occasionally.

One thing I like about OS X is that you've got Unix sitting underneath it. Newbies to Unixland can learn at their own pace; more experienced folks can just get stuck in.

Visual InterDev. Why did I bother with this croc?
VB6 WebClasses. Dead before it even started. I knew these inside out and yet no one used them.
LINQ to SQL. Killed by MS just as I was starting to know it well. http://ayende.com/Blog/archive/2008/...nq-to-sql.aspx

Any others here a specialist in learning dead-end technology?
VB6 WebClasses, LOL do you remember ActiveX Documents Dim? That was genius, the future of web development.

Im afraid Gupta Technologies/Centura is still going strong ! We're now up to v6.1 - known as TD.Net or TeamDeveloper , which is a .Net enabled SQLWindows. SQLBase dBMS is now upto v11.5 .

To make your rash statement slightly more accurate.....In February 2001 Centura filed for Bankrupcy, and was taken over by the Platinum Equity investment company. Centura was reborn in 2005 as 'Gupta Technologies LLC' and the IDE rights were bought by Halo Technology Holdings, Inc. In September 2006 the company was acquired by Unify Corporation - who have invested HUGE sums in bringing the IDE upto speed.

TD.Net (SQLWindows v6.1 ) is now a force to be reckoned with and still widely used..

              It's crap.

The Pi is a hardware platform, it contains an ARM derivative processor that can be programmed in a number of languages, C, C++, ARM Assembler for example. All of which are not going to disappear overnight.

So, looks like your lack of knowledge has dropped you in the mire again.

Remind us again, fat bastard, what is it you do for a living?
