Is the reession over? Job search easy?

For me the job Market has gone bezerk

I have three offers at the moment with one being contract and the other two perm.

I pretty much got offered a role really quickly

is anyone else seeing the same?? Have people been finding that the job Market is heating up very quickly??

Well, as a benchmark I always used to gauge the market by searching c# contract roles in the last 7 days within the UK and Europe. This time last year I was getting about 1000 hits. This slumped to just under 200 a few weeks back and now I'm getting 270 or so. Definitely some activity there.

      No.

      No.

      No.

      No.

In July 2007 there were 9,200 jobs per day on Jobserve. Now there are 2,200 per day.

I can feel a small twitch

This week I've noticed I've found 10 jobs to apply for which is better than every other week since May.

But, compared to other years its very quiet.

I think a lot of the action has moved behind the scenes and agents are working more off of reccomendations, iProfile and LinkedIn to avoid getting swamped.

I have received some Linkedin offers, usually for an unstable piece of sand in the ME.

Ah, but that assumes you're starting from the lowest point .... I think we're far away from that.
The close proximity of the letters 'G' and 'T' are the reason I'll never again send an important email and end it with "Regards" ....

Aha - perhaps then we can say that -

When they were up they were up
When they were down they were down
and when they only half way up
They were neither up nor down ..

I think things might be picking up ever so slightly. I'm in a fairly niche market and, from perhaps 1 call every 2 weeks 4 months ago, I'm now being spammed by agents, have just taken a call from one, and have about 5 revelant queries in my inbox since yesterday. Still get the meaningless agency chaff, but some real gems are starting to pop up.

Perhaps it's just a spike, and not a trend. Who knows.
