Depends how much experience you've got, I guess. If you have a mainstream skillset and are relatively junior, I'm guessing there's plenty of activity. If you're in a niche skillset and further up the pyramid, it's going to be more challenging.
It's better to try and approach companies direct rather than rely on agents, imho.

I finish up in 2 weeks.....i've had 3 calls in the last 2 days. With interviews setup for two of them.... Its certainly looks better. Also the HBOS / Lloyds work is kicking off proper next month and that will mean about another 100 PM type roles....

I've been benched 3 weeks and so far have a number of different leads both perm and contract.. the market certainly seems (at least for me) to be better than it has been recently..

And what agency are you from then, pushing iProfile and LinkedIn?

You're not going to suggest we all hand over all our references and sit on some virtual bench next are you?

Just started looking myself - 3 weeks to go. Can't complain, had a very nice government project for the past 18 months, been on a rolling month contract for the past 3 months.

iProfile may be a crock - but there's nowt wrong with LinkedIn if you change your privacy settings so agents can't see your connections. Had plenty of interest from my LinkedIn profile, perhaps 30% of calls are as a result of it.

What are they saying when they ring you though?

Are they agents wanting your CV?

Surely it'll be just the same as posting your CV on jobsite/jobserve?

Except they get a step closer to seeing all your contacts once they convince you you're their new best mate?
