So still less than 0.5 mortality rate to reported infection cases and infections are under reported (many countries like UK no longer bothering to get everyone to go to the doc) while deaths are not, so real mortality rate is probably even lower

Whole swine flu thing is so overblown it's really starting to annoy me, it's a flu that spreads more than normal, nothing more nothing less.

It most defiantly is not the end of the world which is how some people, due to the media, are acting

To put the numbers in perspective, in the last 3 months an estimated:

      * 2,100,000 children died due to poverty (UNICEF Estimates 25,000 per day)

      * 69,041 people died in the US due to Obesity (annual estimate is 300k per year)

      * 35,782 deaths due to cancer in the UK (155,484 was 2007 total)

      * 690 People died on UK roads (3000 was last years total)

Oh yeah and lets not forget the studies looking at UK mortality rates due to in(flu)enza

      2000-01 1,067
      2001-02 7,078
      2002-03 6,559
      2003-04 5,207
      2004-05 1,795
So 700 worldwide for Swine flu is nothing to be worried about at this point, if it hits at least 1% infection to mortality then start being concerned

Actually the last flu epidemic in the UK in 1989-90 is supposed to have killed about 25,000. But of course back then, we weren't the soft panicky nation we are now.

I got the flu then. Knocked me out for a week.
        Hard Brexit now!

At the risk of sounding repetitive, we are still at the very early stages. We are less than 1% into this pandemic. It's when the less hygienic third world countries get hit in large numbers that we will see real devastating effects, and that is very many months away. This has a year or three to run IMO.

Not arguing we are barely into this, but this is important bit, we have been here at least a dozen of times before in our life times (if over 30). Been a flu epidemics every 2 to 4 years since records began

                    Year - Deaths (UK)
                    1989-90 26,945
                    1993-94 14,544
                    1995-96 16,241
                    1996-97 21,770
                    1998-99 17,982
                    1999-2000 22,040

And guess what? The World did not end, civilization did not burn to the ground, the economy did not crash (though to late for that one now)

The only reason anyone has paid any attention to swine flu is due to the massive over reporting of fatalities initially in Mexico, which made it sound like the black death was coming. Yet we now know those reports were wrong/false

Yes swine flu will be wide spread and yes a lot of people will die but guess what, that happens pretty much every 2 to 4 years and we barely notice or remember it unless directly affected by one of the deaths

If media and politicians don't stop panicking people each time a new version of influenza comes out then when something really serious, really deadly starts spreading no one will listen until it is to late
