Well today sees the start if my 6th month on the bench and I'm feeling really low. Sick of my life in fact.

To make matters worse, I've scuffed the front bumper of the car trying to get it round a tight space

I think things will pick-up a bit in Sept. but you might have to widen your search area.

      Good luck.

Just had one of last year's third years pop in (a successful one).

That's "successful" in passing his final year... not in getting a job...

        Ho hum.

I'm already applying all over the country.

            What's your skillset?

            Where are you based.

I was handed my cards last week & will be on the bench as from 23rd of this month.

My skillset is c#.Net & C++. The initial response has been quite promising - had my cv forwarded to 5 clients in the space of 1 week. Gone a bit quiet again this week though but hoping it will pick up through September. It'll be interesting to see the jobstats page when it's updated to see if what we saw last month was a blip or a sustainable recovery.

I'm based in the north east as a SQL dba. Nothing up here now so I've given up looking localy. Even Leeds and North Yorkshire is dead. Trying to stay out of London if possible.

I think I'm being a good boy today.

Despite the removals men being in and having dismantled the office, I've still managed to do gig-searching.

My server's processor fan died (I had powered it off while the office was dismantled). The server is on its side, uncased. Next door had a PC call-out chap arrive - I managed to beg a 2nd hand CPU fan from him!

I've managed to find and apply for two gigs.
My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.
