Leaving menaces to the world aside...

      Good luck MrMark!

As RC says, there may be wonderful brownie points to be had by turning up although the permies themselves cry off - escalate via the receptionist until you're certain those in charge realise that you, at least, don't dither in the face of a bit of inclement weather. It's the contractor's way

I'm ready to take DD2 to school but thought I would have a quick look at emails.

There was a 3 month gig that looked like a good match, applied and thought I'd call the agency. Its a bit early bit took a flyer.

        They answered

        He spoke to me

        Sounds promising.

I wondered why those bank notes were so easy to see with the lights off.

            The agencies, of course.

If the agent is not confident enough to arrange telephone interviews and allows the client's procurement team to dictate the process, then there is little that we as contractors can do about that.

Had a phone interview at 11am this morning.

Spent most of the night and again this morning refreshing myself on the technology (haven't used it in 6 months) and the client.

Agent rings at 10:55 to say the interview's off, the client is postponing for 6 weeks.

But they (both client and agent) like my cv and will hang on to it, so a glimmer of hope for January.

Hmm. Keep the paperwork and start hassling the agent regularly from the end of January, but be prepared to be throwing it away unused in March.

Telephone just rang for the 2nd time today ... I seem to be in demand.

Don't forget to get the dressing gown in the wash before the phone interview, they can tell
