Applied for a gig advertised by Agency A at £350 - £400 / day. Agent is "not in today".

Got phoned by agency B: same gig @ £300 / day.

Me: "Are you on a fixed margin?"
Agent B: "Yes, it is a Catalist role. They just don't pay well."

So I phone friendly agency C.

Me: "Have you seen this ClientCo role?"
Agent C: "Nope."
Me: "But you're a Catalist supplier."
Agent C: "ClientCo isn't on the Catalist agreement."


So, contrary to what is said by some in another thread, there is no point asking the agent what their margin is. They just lie.

Is it just me, or have things picked up a bit this week. I have had several email from agents every day. No role that would fit my profile, but nothing new there.

I have applied for ten valid gigs today. All ones for which I could reasonably expect an interview under normal circumstances.

Including: two phone calls from agents calling me.

And with Special Star Feature: a previous ClientCo are advertising and the agent I went through last time has put me forward.
