We'd do better going to Mars where we might learn the first tiny steps towards finding another planet to live on.

The moon project gave us teflon, frozen meals and many other advances through technological development. There is no doubt that in conquering Mars, further gains will be made for mankind that just cannot be quantified at present.

The world population will explode over the next few decades and no amount of money will compensate for the lack of commonsense with regard to exercising birth-control. Population control is the only way to stop us all ending up in poverty. Religious dogma is the killer, and money is simply irrelevant.

Instead of spending billions for mission to mars , use that money to fix up planet earth, which is affected by enormous amount of pollution .There is a gigantic garbage dump as big as USA swirling in the southern pacific ocean.
