The only truth as someone previously said is the market has gone nowhere because there is low volume caused by the summer holidays. So we can expect a breakout one way or the other when the big boys get back from their holidays.

Before you all head for the Hills - take a look at what some of those commentators had to say about y2k - sky is falling , chaos etc etc - sorry to spoil your doomsday chaps , the US economy is gaining momentum and by September will be very much in the ascendancy along with the Global economy.

IF you must have something to worry about - may I suggest the collision with Andromeda Galaxy - dont scoff ...4.5 Billion years isnt that far away .

A bit more of a worry is a star called Eta Carinae

It is possible that the Eta Carinae hypernova or supernova could affect Earth, about 7,500 light years away, ... A supernova or hypernova produced by Eta Carinae would probably eject a gamma ray burst (GRB) out on both polar areas of its rotational axis. Calculations show that the deposited energy of such a GRB striking the Earth's atmosphere would be equivalent to one kiloton of TNT per square kilometer over the entire hemisphere facing the star with ionizing radiation depositing ten times the lethal whole body dose to the surface.[21] This catastrophic burst would probably not hit Earth, though, because the rotation axis does not currently point at us. If Eta Carinae is a binary system, this may affect the future intensity and orientation of the supernova explosion that it produces, depending on the circumstances

When the Hitchhikers Guide was first aired, someone told me that astronomers pronounced Betelgeuse as Beetle juice.
