What is to stop the following working?
A bunch of us CUKers agree to collaborate on doing our accounts and share information and advice. Quite informally, no contracts.
We pick a year end date and, where necessary, change our LtdCo year end to that date. After that, we will tend to all be doing the same thing at the same time and encountering the same problems together.
So from then on, as forms are required someone pops up a "IR99 came today, needs returning by 1st Aug". That thread then is the discussion place for filling in that form.
I know there will always be differences of opinion ("Are you a PSC?") but we can discuss it and individually tick or cross as appropriate.
Most of us are all in similar circumstances, VAT registered and running a one-man band LtdCo. (Those that don't can set up their own specialist equivalent, if there's enough of them to make that work.)
Between us there's enough experience and knowledge to do all the paperwork and answer all the questions.
Then who'd need an accountant at all? And therein lies the £500 to £1700 per year benefit.
Other ideas:
- all agree to use the same software?
- all agree to use one of those on-line accounts management sites being discussed recently?
- calendar functions of what you should have received, done and deadlines.
- optional automatic reminder emails .
(And, BTW, if someone makes such a web site their Plan B, I want a free subscription!)
