I'd get lynched for accessing the internet for non critical stuff at current clientco and they would go bananas if I used unauthorised methods to access the net due to the secure nature of the site.Comment

The problem was that the data allowance on the basic package was only 500MB and given that say accessing bbc.co.uk and say spill.com (movie review site) main pages. (plus one more bbc page) takes up about 1.8MB on Skyfire browser without playing video or audio then that was not good enough. I knew this before I took out the package with the 5 GIG. He Wrote down 5 GIG data on the agreement, I have him on tape stating this (didn't trust them due to what peoplesoft guy was telling me), I even wrote this down on the company headed letter which they asked me to provide them with stating exactly what I wanted.
Top and bottom of it is a) he didn't set me up with Insurance (as stated and signed for in the agreement / receipt). this has been rectified by someone over the phone b) there is no 5 GIG "Mobile Broadband" on mobile service on the phone only the 500MB data limit. They would have allowed me to sleep walk into an extortionate bill had I not realised this.
I asked him about 7 times whether or not he could do the 5 GIG on the phone on several different meetings in the shop and he conferred with others and the answer was 'yes' in his shop and it was also 'yes' in several other shops in and around London via different staff.
I'm going into the shop today to see WTF is going on.Comment

Anyway, sounds to me like you've experienced either an overzealous salesman or someone who hadn't got a clue. The problem I think is definitely at point of sale.Comment
