1.Catch the virus
2.incubation
3.show symptoms
you are contagious at point 3, when you get sick. NOT at point 1
You don't know that you've caught the virus until you have symptoms, thus Day 1 is effectively the first day that you display symptoms. From then on you can spread the virus up to Day 7, unless you are a child in which case you can go past Day 7. Dear oh dear !!Comment

the patient catches the virus on day 8. at which point he is contagious.
Prior to catching it, he incubates it for eight days in his body.
so remind me what the term is for it getting into his body in the first place is ?

Sneezing without using a handkerchief is unhygienic. Of course you would not understand that logic.Comment

Find out for yourself. I detest all people that sneeze without adopting hygienic precautions to avoid droplets flying through the air to infect others, whatever race. I would recommend avoiding all tube travel and not working in air-conditioned offices. Good luck !!Comment

Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostThe point is this, for all you who have kids. If they have the flu, it is still safe for you to go out and about to help them, until you start to display symptoms yourself. Even if you suspect you may have caught it already.
.. but it is not necessarily safe because at the time that you leave the house you may feel fine but could be displaying symptoms within an hour or so. Thus if you go into work for a day knowing that your kids have swineflu you are behaving irresponsibly IMO.Comment
