                  Silly me.

The Chinese are searching for Weapons of Mass Destruction in Tibet - hence their rightful albeit illegal occupation - or if thats a tad incredulous - - intervened to bring liberation for the surpressed Tibetans.

                  Perfect.

Read all about it here : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/t...-off-show.html

PS Dim Prawn - as you hail from Swndon perhaps you would be perfect to play Bille Piper ?

Or maybe the disinterest is because the conflict is so remote and nobody has a clue what it is about.

At least with Tibet they THINK they do. That nice Dalai Lama, those lovely peaceful Buddhists rescuing earthworms in that film with Brad Pitt. The fact is that Buddism too has its nasty intolerant side but let's gloss over that, everyone knows the Chinese are horrible, must be all their fault.

Personally I think it is ridiculous and unnatural to be expected to feel major concern about every problem going on in a world of 6bn people. Immediate aid in event of a natural disaster, fine, but when it comes to longstanding conflicts there usually not a damn bit of good that outsiders with not the remotest understanding of the problems can do except make themselves feel good.
