    435/4

Run rate has shot up in the last ten minutes, hopefully they can get 5 for the last 35 overs.

I know this game is 90% a draw but it looks very bad for England if you ask me, their 2 much vaunted spinners get 1 wicket for about 160 while Australia's supposedly crap spinner gets 3 for 95 on a much less favourable wicket for spinning.

On batting Australia just look miles more experienced. Men against boys.

As I said at the start of this thread I cannot see England winning a test and the last three days completely confirm that.

Might know a lot about test cricket, but clearly know zip about cricket grounds. Cardiff has never hosted a game lasting more than three days, so it is sacrilege that it is hosting any sort of test match yet - let alone an Ashes game. It was always either going to be all over inside three days, or you wouldn't get a result if you played for a week.

Guys at the ground were talking about a draw even on Thursday. I thought they were having a laugh....clearly they knew more than I did.

What a waste of a test match. Had this been Lords, England wouldn't have picked monty....Australia would have probably won anyway (they usually do at Lords), but at least the series would be off to a flier. This is just boring I'm afraid.

Au contraire my leetle Eenglish friend.

I am aware that the Glamorgan team regularly use 3 spinners and that they have had trouble from the authorities for 'producing' a spinners wicket.

This pitch was meant to be England's opening gambit and it failed miserably.

Just so you know I am not on a Jock Land Vs England thing I lived in Australia for a considerable time.

PS: I agree hosting it in Wales was a stupid mistake.

Anyway If I was Ponting I would be saying smack the ball around until lunch, try and get 200+ quickly, high probability England are going to bottle it

Horrible feeling you are right, at least it looks like there will only be about 1-2 hours play today so England should hold on.

Do the English team not have a clean set of whites?

I'm going to develop an application that registers the English comentators name drop the last time they won a sporting cometition. I will call it...

                    www.timesWeMentionTheLastTimeWeWonIt.com

Currently I think SKY mention 2005 about 15 times an hour during the cricket where as in football we get about 12 mentions of 1966 an hour.

Seems to be little mention of 2006/2007.

The 5-0 bitch-slap has been psychologically suppressed and erased from the commentators memories. Quite a good skill to have for the players I would have thought.
