I was actually being deadly serious on that post as well, so it seems I know quite a lot about test cricket considering I am a sweaty sock.

I know this game is 90% a draw but it looks very bad for England if you ask me, their 2 much vaunted spinners get 1 wicket for about 160 while Australia's supposedly crap spinner gets 3 for 95 on a much less favourable wicket for spinning.

On batting Australia just look miles more experienced. Men against boys.

As I said at the start of this thread I cannot see England winning a test and the last three days completely confirm that.

Cardiff has never hosted a game lasting more than three days, so it is sacrilege that it is hosting any sort of test match yet - let alone an Ashes game. It was always either going to be all over inside three days, or you wouldn't get a result if you played for a week.

Guys at the ground were talking about a draw even on Thursday. I thought they were having a laugh....clearly they knew more than I did.

What a waste of a test match. Had this been Lords, England wouldn't have picked monty....Australia would have probably won anyway (they usually do at Lords), but at least the series would be off to a flier. This is just boring I'm afraid.

I am aware that the Glamorgan team regularly use 3 spinners and that they have had trouble from the authorities for 'producing' a spinners wicket.

This pitch was meant to be England's opening gambit and it failed miserably.

Just so you know I am not on a Jock Land Vs England thing I lived in Australia for a considerable time.

Horrible feeling you are right, at least it looks like there will only be about 1-2 hours play today so England should hold on.

Currently I think SKY mention 2005 about 15 times an hour during the cricket where as in football we get about 12 mentions of 1966 an hour.
