Actually if you speak to a decent doctor, he (or she) will willingly admit that it the body that heals itself. In most cases medical treatment just helps the healing process along a bit. -
Strawman. Plenty of people wish to leave the UK too.Originally posted by minestrone View PostSo because you don't like the fact that doctors earn decent money you want change the system in the UK to model a communist dictatorship where people will jump on a inflated tractor inner tube as soon as the wind starts blowing in the direction of the USA. I am going to take a wild guess and say that you never got the exam results to get into medical school.Comment

That's been my policy thus far. Works for me. Trouble is I still end up subsidising those that do wish to pour wealth into a black hole.Originally posted by sasguru View PostI have a solution for TimberWolf. Don't visit a doctor ever. If you're ill treat yourself. Hope you have a good epitaph ready.

I suppose you are right, I was born with arthritis, high blood pressure and heart disease but I grew out of them all.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostActually if you speak to a decent doctor, he (or she) will willingly admit that it the body that heals itself. Painful as it is to agree with someone on CUK, this is the case.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostActually if you speak to a decent doctor, he (or she) will willingly admit that it the body that heals itself. In most cases medical treatment just helps the healing process along a bit.
In the vast majority of bacterial infections (in particular) unless there's an autoimmune complication then the leucocytic and lymphocitic cells will destroy the bacteria and they'll eventually be washed out in urine.
Similarly for viral infections: the viruses are attacked by the body initially and it's only if the body "needs a hand" in getting rid of the virus will a doctors help be required.
Naturally if the virus is one that attacks as its modus operandii the immune system (e.g., the (frankly, *wonder-of-evolution*) HIV virus) itself then retrovirals are necessary to prevent or at least slow its rate of spread.Comment

I do. Frequently. I am related to one so I know for a fact that the claim that being a doctor is a "cushy number" is such utter nonsense it is almost funny.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostActually if you speak to a decent doctor, he (or she) will willingly admit that it the body that heals itself. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? - EpicurusComment

Being a bus driver, a postman or a coal miner isn't a cushy number either. Ask him whether he'd rather be shovelling coal for 8 hours a day and knackering up his body parts ready for old age instead of sitting in an office.Originally posted by PM-Junkie View PostI do. How old are you? Usually its only after 40 that your body finally begins to decline.
And I bet your precious principles will fall by the wayside then
Hard Brexit now!
