    Is TV overrated?

Never in the field of human technology has so much good invention been available at such a low price, for the purpose of wasting more time on more rubbish than any other medium could dream of.

Your Sony Bravia is only £700 if your time is worthless.

That's like saying the printing press was a waste, it depends on what books you read (or TV programs you watch). TV is just a means of conveying information through audio and video, I love documentaries and have learnt a lot from them - radios and books can't touch HD television for this purpose.

When I have something better to do I do it. When I havent there is TV.
TV does not rule my life.

Personally I think TV has never been better, the arrival of huge choice and the ability to schedule it when I want means I never watch crap.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
