... and thus unemployment was lower in 1997 when the Tories handed over the reins to this incompetent bunch.

At least it's not boom and bust...oh hang on!
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

        I preferred version 1!

So in 1992 when it was up around 10% ... (3 million or so unemployed)?

So we're back to Tory levels of unemployment - time for another sick joke like the "Labour isn't working" con?

didn't they change how they measure unemployment, presumably to make it look less bad?

Here a litmus test of your prejudices:

                1. Tories come in, with unemployment at 1m.
                2. Mid-term, Tories have unemployment of 3m.
                3. At end, Tories have unemployment of 1m;
Labour come in with unemployment of 1m.
                4. Mid-term, Labour have unemployment of 2m.

Q: how do you describe that?
                (a) Labour unemployment higher than Tories
                or
                (b) Labour unemployment back to Tory levels
                or
                (c) Labour unemployment up, but not as high as Tory levels.

I'm not sure why the number of people out of work is so hilariously funny to him anyway.

Laughing about peoples misfortune isn't clever.
