Lewis Hamilton certainly is a live wire. Mind you, nearly 10% of the English voters don't want him in the country.

Must admit though, can't warm to Murray. McEnroe had charisma and Murray is utterly charmless in that special way that only certain Scotts can manage.
Is it just me or is the word "certain" wasted here??

Been watching him recently then have you? I'd say he's matured a hell of a lot in the last year or so.

Personally I'll support any British competitor or British team on the world stage, excepting the English rugby team, because they are such utter twunts.

But at this rate I may have to reconsider. I find it rich English going on about how the Scots hate them, when as far as I've experienced down here and even on this board it's just as bad on the English side.

Luckily the world is full of all sorts. For every Connors and Mcenroe who had charisma there are the Wilanders, Ivan Lendle's and even Sampras's for example who are more introverted. Doesn't make them less supportable in my opinion as I watch it for the tennis. Is there an onus on sports stars to be entertaining as well as achieve results?

I have never been a Murray fan ( I support Federer due to his heritage, style, personality etc) but I would have to agree that he is no longer the petulant teenager and has shown a massive improvement in his temperament and attitude in the last 12 to 18 months.

Walking down lothian road at the weekend bright blue sky terrific day. The tourists are starting to come out in they're droves. Festival fever is building up you can feel it. I looked up towards Edinburgh castle and union jack stood alone fluttering in the gentle breeze. Pride and anger is all I felt, pride that I know this united kingdom will not be broken up, because exactly that, the majority of us stand united in a way the minority could not understand. I'm proud to be part of a united kingdom it shows the rest of the world something to strive for, unity. To those small number of individuals who hide here in obscurity.... oblivion awaits.

Blimey! Pity there wasn't an Apple flag flying as well, your day would have been complete

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.
