Yes, all the time, at every gig
Edit: come to think of it, from their point of view, there's zero incentive to make any distinction

I often spin the line that clientco could be at risk of additional Tax & NI costs if I am involved in stuff like performance reviews etc.

Seems to do the trick, but it helps that there's a lot of contractors here and the position is generally understood.

Ahem, Same rights as permies for temp staff, holiday pay etc

There is an incentive. It's just they don't understand them.

So why are you fussing and contacting your accountant?

If the client said "can you please change this tape / debug this code / write this spec" [delete as applicable] you wouldn't whine so why get upset if one of your tasks is to fill in a form to track your project hours?

I have contacted my accountant on the matter, and just wanted the opinion from the panel.
            To do what exactly?

Advise if this creates me greater risk of IR35.

That's a nice line but it's not true is it? Hector will come after you not them in the event he decides you are really an employee - or I am I missing your point?

I think IR35 and its European counterparts work the same way all over Europe; the Inland Revenue social insurance number randomizer runs each day if your number comes up they'll accuse you of being a disguised employee. It's a sort of reverse lottery.

Cos he's a fusspot. This is the same guy who creates chaos at the supermarket checkout by demanding a VAT receipt for his sarnies and potnoodles. Isn't that freaky. And it gets worse - he's on FRS FFS
