If you listen closely, you can still hear the screams .....

Could the end be upon us soon. BBC: Nationalist bid to force election
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Do they (as in elected MPs) keep the allocated police protection unit attached after they have stood down or lost their seats?
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

No Chance. most MP's are Labour and most will lose their seats so there will not be an election simply because turkeys don't vote for Christmas. Self serving w@nkers - MP's not turkeys
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

        I preferred version 1!

          Could be.

I think there is a mood in the house/country to force dissolution.

Thursday's results will be the last straw for Labour.

Agreed Bogey, although I think that the following may happen:

            1. Stuffed ballot boxes

            2. Mysteriously high number of postal votes - esp in certain ethnicities

            3. A plea to wait until Monday when the European election results are known

Truth be told however, the sooner this shower get out the better for us all.

It was always ridiculous that someone like that was doing anything more demanding than flipping burgers in the first place.

Yes, I thought about that, but given the situation, dare they risk such a blatant vote-rigging strategy?

It could blow up in their faces and they could find themselves in jail this time (the party workers mind you, not the great and good).

I am of a mind that all UK elections should be monitored by outside observers for the foreseeable future.

It's coming to a parlous state of affairs when our elections are almost as trustworthy as the Zimbabweans.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Rumour has it that the Conservatives and Lib Dems will support this.

Could it be that the end draweth nigh for Grim Gordon and his hoards?

Before we get our hopes up, don't forget what a sneaky, conniving, defensive bastard Brown is. I'm sure he as contingency plans for this kind of eventuality.
